TGI (Thank God it's) Spring!

Thank God for British summertime! The clocks have gone forward and after a hard days work, it isn't pitch black the minute I step off the tube. All this extra daylight has made me return to my beloved twisted headscarf. Part Prada S/S07, part Serena Van der Woodsen it epitomises springtime's nonchalant mood (and mine!) I'm thinking complimented with a printed jumpsuit and denim jacket that's me sorted for Spring.
Good Friday fabulousness.

Desperately seeking...a maxi skirt

I want a maxi skirt. Badly. But I never really know what to wear with them anymore. In the nineties I wore maxi skirts to every social event (I was 13) usually with a skintight bodysuit or this illuminous green D&G top I used to be be obsessed with. I would love to go Alexander Wang style and wear one with a slouchy crop top, but I am not Natasha Poly. Perhaps A slouchy off-the shoulder top will be a good look? Inspire me someone! This is what I've got so far.

What a girl wants

I was checking out The Sartorialist this evening and he threw out an interesting question. Was the Louis Vuitton show really how men like to see women? I think the short answer is yes, but I must say I was also in love with the girlish Vuitton show (if I can call it that? Perhaps I should say womanly...) After so many seasons of hard edged leather biker jackets, Marc Jacobs made women want a full skirted leather skirt, honestly the way this man changes your perception of fashion is mind-blowing. I think the Vuitton show is how every really woman wants to look, (although some have argued a case for the AW10 Celine collection...I beg to differ). Skinny jeans and mannish oversized coats may be easy to wear and have an effortless cool edge but full-skirts , corseted sundresses and elbow length sleeves take a sophisticated effort, and next winter making an effort is looking seriously appealing.

Oh and check out the shoes from the show. If that's not my dream court, I don't know what is.

The only way to wear a tattoo...

I think Freja Beha Erichsen started the tattoo fixation for the fashionista, all fashion month I haven't been able to stop myself from spotting all her tattoos whether she's been decked out in the chicest Oscar De La Renta or aviation inspired Burberry. So with tattoos becoming chic in fashion Chanel have finally launched their transfer tattoo collection that debuted at the "Hoe-down" Spring/Summer 2010 show and is now available to buy at Selfridges. I got my very own preview of one of the designs from a lovely Chanel make-up girl.

So hot. Will you be transferring some double linked C's on to your skin?

French Connection Reconnects

Once an aspirational label it seemed of late French Connection has been just another name on the highstreet and possibly a little overpriced without being Topshop cool. Luckily French Connection's ad people know when they need to pull something special out the bag and the new Spring/Summer campaign is beyond cool. For my personal fave below, enjoy!
