The only way to wear a tattoo...

I think Freja Beha Erichsen started the tattoo fixation for the fashionista, all fashion month I haven't been able to stop myself from spotting all her tattoos whether she's been decked out in the chicest Oscar De La Renta or aviation inspired Burberry. So with tattoos becoming chic in fashion Chanel have finally launched their transfer tattoo collection that debuted at the "Hoe-down" Spring/Summer 2010 show and is now available to buy at Selfridges. I got my very own preview of one of the designs from a lovely Chanel make-up girl.

So hot. Will you be transferring some double linked C's on to your skin?

The Tress

I have been in love with the trench coat for years. Ever since Gap did that advertising campaign full of pastel coloured trenches circa 2000/2001 and I have never looked back. And whats not to love when it comes down to it? The flattering double breasted shape, the hourglass enhancing fabric belt. Holly Golighty eat your heart out.

So a couple of weeks ago I was enjoying a fashion discussion with a very good friend who happens to work for Burberry. We were gabbling about the stunning SS10 collection, which was full of candy coloured trenches some of which were so slim fitting and stylised that they were basically dresses or shall we call then tresses?

Now in my mind the tress should be as successfully as DVF''s wrap. The talented Rachel Roy has been making the style her signature stamp in every one of her collections for several years now, but it just didn't quite capture women's imaginations. Well Perhaps SS10 is the time, mini-length tresses have exploded, (check out Celine's utility chic sleeveless version or Alexander Wang's cool cut out option.) Will you be rocking the tress next season? I know I will be!

Seriously feeling Lederhosen

Once the essential apparel for a night in with The Sound of Music, the ubiquitous leather short has made its fashion debut and I am slowly but surely getting obsessed! We have gone through the safe tailored short, last year's cut off denims and finally this SS the short is worthy of the new decade, presented in glorious leather.

So I'm thinking its not going to be the easiest trend to pull off but fashioin risks are too much fun. Anything but black is best, teamed with a slouchy tee and cone heeled sandals how could it go wrong? My inspiration for this trend? Check out the stylish Miroslava Duma rocking the Lederhosen at New York fashion week last September. Too cool.

Best in Shoe

So it may be the end of fashion month but a mountain of wow-moments are still emerging from under the radar. Valentino left a huge black hole when he retired in 2007 and it seemed whoever replaced him was bound to face some discouraging criticism. For SS10 creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Paolo Piccioli seemed to reverse the curse and really showed their flair for shoes, (to fair they were accessory designers)! The stunning shoe styles were the jewel in the Valentino collection's crown. The collabo between Valentino and milliner Phillip Treacy was a very smart move, even urban-fashionista Alexander Wang was swooning at all the feathers, lace and stiletto heels. Perfect for the avant-garde bride and so much better than a white satin court. Don't you think?

When two fash-tribes go to war.

The Parisian shows have been a total dream for SS10. Balenciga did Street Nomad, Viktor and Rolf did Fairytale Romance with hard angular lines and Alber Elbaz just did what he does best, wonderful feminine dressing at Lanvin. Surely the most anticipated show in Paris though had to be the debut catwalk collection from Phoebe Philo for Celine? It definitely was for me.

I have subtly been drawing comparisons between Phoebe and her old sparring partner Ms Stella McCartney and imagining my very own fantasy fashion warfare. Where Pheobe did lots of utilitarian sleek leather, Stella did over the top frou-frou. Where Stella did bold paint box jewel colour, Phoebe did monochromatic nudes with black. With all these polar opposites who won the war? Well lets be honest the winner has to be the consumer. It seems fashion's future is looking very bright next Spring.
