Desperately seeking...a maxi skirt

I want a maxi skirt. Badly. But I never really know what to wear with them anymore. In the nineties I wore maxi skirts to every social event (I was 13) usually with a skintight bodysuit or this illuminous green D&G top I used to be be obsessed with. I would love to go Alexander Wang style and wear one with a slouchy crop top, but I am not Natasha Poly. Perhaps A slouchy off-the shoulder top will be a good look? Inspire me someone!
