Shoes for Summer
I have noticed a massive hole in my shoe collection lately, mainly in the form of closed toe shoes I can actually walk a fair distance in! Lots of killer block heels from A/W10 and strewn about, but summer is looking tragically sad, thus shoe love is required. Personally I adore unexpected detailing on a shoe say in the form of edgy colours or a modern bow. Here are a couple of pairs I spied in Lannndan town that need to be added to my collection, especially now the sales are on...
First up, the ubiquitous Pierre Hardy for Gap heels in Easter egg inspired hues. Aren't they too cool? The pointy toe is devastating. Adore. Them.

I'm late on this but....

Move ya body like a snake Ma

ZaraKurt Geiger
Ok, so maybe don't "move ya body like a snake" more like cover your body in snake. I thought when it came to animal prints I was strictly a leopard girl, but this season I'm all about the snake. My personal preference is a subtle grey print, coloured snake prints looks a little try hard to me. I just think its so easy to wear for summer and refreshingly kind of tacky-chic. Here are the pieces I want seriously in my wardrobe, the Zara dress is a total killer complete with on-trend side split and the Kurt Geiger platforms are just dying for summertime fun. They will be mine.

Lost in Frank Ocean
When I heard "Swim Good" by Frank Ocean a few months ago I really thought it was just a one off great song. I was listening to Trevor Nelson one morning and he mentioned Frank Ocean's mixtape was downloadable from the Odd Future website, I have been obsessed with nostaglia/ULTRA ever since. So soulful, so edgy, so beautiful, so sexy. There is nothing not to love about it. I had to post this song: "There will be Tears", fast becoming my favourite...at least for this week.

Beautiful People
The Met Ball is always fun right? I feel Team Fashion failed me a little this time round though? A few knockout looks, but was all a bit...I don't know dull?! Shame considering I was hoping everyone would step out in vintage McQueen. I think I needed to see more editors and less "styled within an inch of their lives" slebs. Although I have listed all my faves below. A big controversy for me, on about the same level as SamCam not wearing a hat to last week's Royal wedding, was Anna Wintour stepping out in Chanel. What?! Couldn't she drop the label for ONE evening honouring the late great Alexander McQueen. Damn Shame. Anyway here are my best dressed beautiful peeps.

My 2 Cents
I have been watching the build up to the wedding of Prince William and Catherine (read Kate) Middleton since 7.30am this morning, actually scratch that since last November. Am I dedicated or obsessed? Ok, don't answer that. As a major fashion chick all I have been thinking about is THE DRESS. It seemed like hundreds of designers names were thrown in to the pot: Westwood, Conran, Lepley, Temperley, but the victor was to be Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. When Ms Middleton emerged from her hotel and entered the armoured car with her proud father, I was kind of hoping to see this:
Ok, ok, I am aware this was a crazy fashion dream, but what I saw in truth didn't exactly disappoint me. The much talked about gown was surely less about Sarah Burton the fashion forward Creative director at Alexander McQueen and more about her talent for creating beautifully made clothes, remember Lee McQueen was trained at a Savile Row tailor. The beauty of Kate's dress was really its simplicity, the beauty of the lace detailing, the long sleeves and pleated full skirt (reminiscent of Grace Kelly) and the fact it embodied her own chic, if often a little safe style. One complaint, make that two: I wish she had worn her hair up and secondly think the veil should have been longer, that aside I rather enjoyed the spectacle...Roll on Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy..errrrrmmm.

Picture of the Week : The Bey Z Edition
I love the mood just before a Beyonce record is released: the excitement, the heady high-expectation and (naturally) the outfit observing. Mrs Carter knocked it out of the park this Easter dressed flawlessly in AW11 Marc Jacobs (siiicccck) and with Jigga casually accessorising with his usual "coolest man alive" swagger, what's not to envy? Me...I'm not jealous.

Cool Chick
Gotta love Jenna Lyons from J.Crew, what a cool chick? Tell me the fact that she seems to be everywhere at the moment confirms the rumours J.Crew is going to launch in the U.K?

I'm not a big American Idol fan but if JLo is killing it style-wise. Jenny from the block is so fly.

Head of the Crew

As a lover of twitter...ok read addict (www.twitter.com/adjyg) I follow every fashion editor under the sun so this week was treated to many a twitpic of the J.Crew AW11 presentation. J.Crew is an amazing company with beautiful classic American basics. The AW11 collection did not disappoint, the colours for this fall collection are so right, amazing brights, cool trews and layering porn galore, I want it all.
It's a shame you can only get hold of J.Crew in the UK online, at Net-a-porter.com with Banana "snore" Republic sprouting up on every british highstreet why the hell not?! So I'm shamelessly campaigning for at least a couple of J.Crew's in London. Who's with me?

Nothing like a Dame
We are guilty of bestowing those in hollywood as fashion icons, but when talking about Elizabeth Taylor and her style iconic is beyond fitting. Forget Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba and Natalie Portman, they may all be great actresses but aren't they all dressed by LA super stylists? Elizabeth Taylor lived and breathed glamour, she was the definition of hollywood style, no one can argue with that.

This is what an icon looks like. R.I.P

The Gap in my wardrobe
Obviously everyone in the world of fashion (including myself) has been lusting after the Spring/summer Gap mary-janes. I want a pair....in every colour-way that will probably never get released...what more can I say,the countdown to their April release has begun. They will be mine.

In other Gap news the AW11 collection images have surfaced, I am always so impressed with Gap, the styling is so slick it makes you want to buy everything. The injection of leather in this collection makes it feel modern and tough. Gap has come a long since the 90's logo hoodies. Oh and Joan Smalls looks the business in that tan bomber. Future purchase picked.

Floral Bursts and Colour Inspiration

Jigsaw obviously felt it was their time to blossom since the weather has peaked in the last few days and during my typical Bath shopping mooch I headed to the gorgeous refurbished old post office Jigsaw store and was more impressed with the VM than the clothing (although I did spot a rather arresting straw hat that caught my eye...http://www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001266/J13120/accessories/hats/contrast-trim-wide-brim-straw-hat ) Straw hats aside, the crazy bloom arrangement heads really made my day (and evoked a bit of a surreal Viktor and Rolf feel) all the colour reminded me that I need to stop dressing in navy, denim and khaki 24-7. Dreary colours do not a stylish fashion girl make, saying that I ended up buying a black skinny knit midi dress from Gap, but it's hot and black is always cool in the summer...Yeah right.

LFW AW11
London's bad weather really did deter me from embracing Spring 11 trends for Fashion Week, apart from a pop of colour and pattern introduced by my electric blue Zara courts and my Kurt Geiger Leopard print cone heels, it was a wrapped up look all round! Tragic really...Luckily it seems AW11 is very much carrying on from where SS11 left off. Colour is the order of the day! As were stunning coats, longer skirt lengths and tucking your hair in to you coat, so make sure your rocking some longer locks next season.
Here are my best shots from a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Krystof Strozyna was pure, sleek, modernity.
